Overview

Rincon Sonorense Valle stands as a stronghold of authentic Mexican flavors in the heart of Monterrey’s Del Valle neighborhood. Nestled at Rio Mississippi 192, this restaurant is a go-to spot for those craving traditional Sonoran-style tacos, particularly their famed Tacos de Carne Asada and Tacos de Arrachera. These signature dishes showcase tender, expertly grilled cuts of meat that retain their rich, juicy character — a testament to the kitchen’s consistent quality over the years.

The menu is an expansive journey through classic and regional Mexican staples: from the hearty Tacos de Tripita to the uniquely sweet Caramelo en Tortilla de Harina. Guacamole Tatemado and Papa Sonora add that extra layer of depth, while the well-curated salsa bar invites diners to customize each bite. The accompaniments, such as Frijoles Charros and Quesadillas with melted cheese, round out the experience with familiar comforts that complement the main dishes.

Rincon Sonorense Valle’s atmosphere balances a modern, clean aesthetic with a welcoming warmth, distancing itself from the typical taqueria vibe with slightly upscale touches. This may challenge traditional expectations but appeals to a broad audience — both long-time taco lovers and newcomers intrigued by a refined yet approachable setting. Service is noted for its kindness and attentiveness, enhancing the overall dining experience.

For locals and visitors alike, Rincon Sonorense Valle is more than just a taco spot; it is a culinary landmark preserving the rich tradition of Sonoran cuisine while adapting subtly to evolving tastes. While some patrons find certain dishes underwhelming, the overall reception highlights a consistent commitment to quality meat and flavorful seasoning. The restaurant’s offering of regional beverages such as Agua Horchata and Café de Chiapas further deepens the cultural immersion.

Whether you’re seeking an authentic Mexican meal with generous portions of well-prepared carne or a place with a notable salsa selection and thoughtful side dishes, Rincon Sonorense Valle delivers with pride. It’s an ideal destination for families, longtime locals, and anyone looking to connect with Monterrey’s culinary roots through the simple, yet satisfying, taco experience.

I had been coming to this place since 2001, they keep their meat quality intact, the same with their flavors and topings, good quality overall

Nice taqueria, a bit over-fancy for a taco place, imho. I'm still learning about tacos, and I was a bit underwhelmed with my order of 3 tacos al pastor (but they used another word). They have an extensive salsa bar, with more items than I expected. Even though the tacos didn't impress, there are a myriad of options, and I i left completely full.

Tacos de carne asada. The tacos are big, big tortillas and a lot of meat. Meat is good, soft chewy and fatty. Toppings are self serve, atmosphere is fancy, clean.

Close to the real Sonoran taste. Meat is good but can be better. I would advise a larger sauce selection like it happens in Sonora. However, be mindful that pastor is actually Regio trompo.
